JR et TAKASHI MURAKAMI pour CLARK MAGAZINE 51

Pour clôturer l’année de nos 10 ans, Clark magazine s’est engagé. Le magazine français a tenu à réunir deux artistes qui auront certainement le plus marqué l’histoire du magazine et qui occupent également tous deux au même moment, les trois espaces d’exposition de la Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin jusqu’au 7 janvier 2011 à Paris.
D’un côté, JR, 28 ans, qui expose à partir du 19 novembre 2011, dans l’enceinte de la Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, des photographies inédites, un assemblage, des films ainsi qu’un collage sur toute la façade de la galerie, seront présentés à l’occasion de l’exposition Encrages jusqu’au 7 Janvier 2012.
Pour Clark, JR a trouvé le temps de se photographier avec TAKASHI MURAKAMI dans son studio Inside Out, avec en fond sa trame devenue désormais légendaire.
De l’autre, TAKASHI MURAKAMI, l’artiste au style « Superflat » honore donc une nouvelle fois la sacro-sainte couverture du magazine, qui marque son dernier passage à Paris à l’occasion de l’hommage qu’il rend à Yves Klein depuis le 20 octobre dernier.
Clark Magazine immortalise cette rencontre, confond haute et sous-culture à travers une couverture historique et inédite, accompagné d’un dossier de 12 pages comportant un making-of de la rencontre, ainsi qu’une interview de JR dans son studio parisien, en pleine préparation de son exposition.
Également au sommaire, les portraits d’ANDRÉ CHEMETOFF jeune “chef op” français, de l’animateur et DJ new-yorkais TIM SWEENEY (Beats in Space), de JULIAN SCHNABEL, de l’artiste français JULIEN LANGENDORFF ou encore de la légende du skate américain STEVE OLSON.
À travers ces 148 pages, découvrez les portfolios des artistes MATTHEW DAY JACKSON, SANDRINE PELLETIER, JAY ONE (BBC), DANIEL ARSHAM, BANKS VIOLETTE, ou encore de l’artiste américain AARON YOUNG qui s’exprime sur ses dernières œuvres exposées actuellement à Paris.
Partez en voyage en Inde dans la ville expérimentale d’AUROVILLE, en visite de la V1 GALLERY au Danemark, et faites un détour par les ÉPICERIES DE PARIS.

This 51st cover of CLARK MAGAZINE is the place where TAKASHI MURAKAMI’s smiling flowers and monstrous thoughts and JR’s commitment for a better world meet.
CLARK MAGAZINE has decided to enclose with its 10th year of existence with a bang and to get involved. The French magazine was eager to bring together those two artists - that most certainly are the one who most impacted the magazine’s history. And as it happens they are both - at the same time - in the Gallery Perrotin’s three spaces until 7 January 2012.
On one side, JR, 28, is exhibiting his work from 19 November 2011 in the Gallery Perrotin. This includes new photos, one art assemblage, movies as well as an art collage on the entire front of the gallery. They will all be presented as part of the exhibition “Encrages” until 7 January 2012.
For Clark, JR found time to take a picture of him and TAKASHI MURAKAMI in his studio “Inside Out”, posing with is now legendary background.
On the other side, TAKASHI MURAKAMI, the artist with the “Superflat” style honours yet again the sacrosanct magazine cover which marks his last stay in Paris on the occasion of the tribute he is paying to Yves KLEIN since 20th October.
Clark Magazine immortalizes this meeting, through a unique and historical cover mixing both high and sub-culture. This issue includes a special 12-page with the making-of of the meeting, an interview of JR - in the middle of putting together his exhibition - in his Parisian studio.
Also featured in our issue, the portraits of ANDRÉ CHEMETOFF French young “chief op”, of the entertainer and New-York DJ TIM SWEENEY (Beats in Space), of JULIAN SCHNABEL, of French artist JULIEN LANGENDORFF and as well of the American skate legend STEVE OLSON.
